Very pleased to announce that my script Schisma was a finalist in the Bloody Mirror Horror Fest!

Logline

In a rigid theocratic future, a gender non-conforming astronaut leads a fractured crew on a mission to investigate a deep-space anomaly that manifests their fears and mutates their bodies—forcing humanity toward a terrifying new stage of evolution.

Here’s what the festival had to say about Schisma:

Jury Statement:
The jury admired the script’s ambitious cosmic scope and its fearless exploration of human metamorphosis and philosophical equilibrium. The intense psychological fracturing of the crew against a backdrop of theocratic militarism offers a deeply compelling sci-fi vision.

And here is what I had to say about their fine festival:

Bloody Mirror is an extremely professional and well-organized festival that clearly has a strong passion for the horror genre. From the submission process to communication and promotion, everything felt thoughtfully handled and supportive of filmmakers.

What stood out most was how many opportunities the festival creates for projects to succeed. The combination of live screenings, audience engagement, and the festival’s online channel gives scripts exposure well beyond a single reading event. It’s clear the team genuinely wants writers to reach audiences.

The feedback process is also very valuable. Receiving audience responses and comments helps writers understand how their work connects with readers, which is something many festivals do not offer.

Overall, Bloody Mirror feels like something special within the horror community. It supports the genre, celebrates creativity, and provides a professional platform for filmmakers and writers to showcase their work.
