This cheeky chappy is named Monty – a little black, furry ball of mischief who’s turned my flat into his own flying circus. He was a rescue cat. I adopted him from Anim-mates. Hard to believe he spent just over six months in a boarding kennel, awaiting adoption (and having been returned by one impatient family). Concerned staff told me he had been there abnormally long, because most people won’t adopt black cats due to superstition and they “don’t photograph well”. I dropped by to visit him at the kennel and we hit it off right away. He chose me. Hopefully, I was worth the wait. Now I’m glad I’ve got him. He is a very welcome addition to my life. We’ll be best friends from here to eternity. I’ll leave it up to you to guess where his name came from!

Thanks for sharing this lovely photo of Monty. I love black cats. They have such a lovely, affectionate nature. We have just lost our much love black cat, Lenny, and isn’t the same without him. I have just started a poetry blog here on WordPress that contains some poems about Lenny in case you are interested in taking a look? Have a good day, Sam 🙂
