I wonder … about the origins of the term ‘throw the baby out with the bathwater.’ I wonder if someone actually DID throw a baby out with the bathwater and then moments later think: ‘Wait a minute – there has to be another way.’ Then weeks later, when they came upon a friend about to throw their baby out with the bathwater, they said: ‘Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater!’ And the friend paused and said: ‘That sounds catchy.’
